Victor Dumler

Victor specialises in dispute resolution with a foreign nexus in arbitration and litigation. He also has vast experience in advising clients on matters relating to international contracts.

Victor has represented clients in proceedings under major arbitration rules, including SCC, ICC, LCIA, and ICSID, as well as the International Commercial Arbitration Court (ICAC or “MKAS”) and the Maritime Arbitration Commission at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation (“MAC”) in Moscow.

In substantive respects, Victor’s cases have been primarily in the fields of machinery, energy (oil and gas), construction, insurance, joint ventures and cross-border sale and purchase agreements. Victor’s experience includes renewable, R&D and technology transfer matters.   
Arbitration experience since 2005. Victor has been appointed as arbitrator in ICC, ICAC, MAC, and other proceedings.

Prior to Dumler and Partners, Victor worked for twelve years in the dispute resolution practice of the largest Russian law firm and was chief in-house counsel in an oil trading company.

In addition to his legal practice, Victor has taught procedural law for several years and is currently serving as a member of the Educational Program Board at the Faculty of Law of St. Petersburg State University.

Victor has done continuing education at Cambridge University.
